  • Dr. Tara McAuley, Clinical Neuropsychologist (Supervised Practice)

    Dr. Tara McAuley completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Windsor. During her training, she had the opportunity to work for three years at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan. Through her experience with distinguished clinicians, she gained knowledge in assessment and intervention for rehabilitation populations, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, anoxic brain injury, and brain tumours. She also worked closely with geriatric patients to differentiate normal aging from a neurodegenerative disorder.

    Dr. McAuley then went on and completed her pre-doctoral residency in Clinical Neuropsychology at Edmonton Consortium. She completed a rotation in epilepsy at the University of Alberta Hospital, a rotation in geriatric neuropsychology at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, and a rotation working with forensic and psychiatric patients at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. She also provided treatment for individuals with multiple sclerosis and group treatment for patients with cognitive changes from an acquired brain injury or dementia.

    Dr. McAuley is licensed for supervised practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, specializing in clinical psychology and neuropsychology with adults and seniors. She has been an associate with Storrie, Velikonja, and Associates since 2022, providing Psychological and Neuropsychological services for adult and senior clients. She is particularly interested in working with acquired brain injury and neurodegenerative disorders. She provides integrative therapy that includes aspects of cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotion-focused therapy.
